In 2018, the German market for natural and organic cosmetics grew by 5.9%. In comparison, the overall cosmetics market in Germany stagnated. Sales of natural and organic cosmetics generated 1.26 billion euros last year.

This market sector therefore recorded the strongest growth last year in the cosmetics market and illustrates the growing consumer interest in natural, ethical and socio-ecological ingredients.

In the year 2018 alone, more than one million additional customers bought natural and organic cosmetics in Germany, 40% of them for the first time₁.

This is why projects like AgriWasteValue are very interesting. Indeed, they allow to develop local supply chains of natural (and organic) bioactive compounds that are used in the cosmetics and nutraceutical fields. It responds to a growing demand from the consumers. AgriWasteValue will be using natural ressources from the North-West Regions of Europe.
